4th Medway Scout Group

 
This weekend, three Explorer Scouts and two leaders are going to help build the 21st World Jamboree. With over 40,000 people from 155 countries attending, the scale of the Jamboree is massive and our Explorers will play their part in ensuring that the many visitors to the UK have an amazing time.

This Saturday, 15 Beavers and Cubs went to the Funday at Gilwell Park.
There were lots of activities to join in with. Our Cubs and Beavers enjoyed the intlatables, simulators, hot wheels area, Monstor Trick, Climbing, Rafting water rockets, jousting and more. Take a look at the photos by clicking on the image below.

This weekend the Cubs are going to camp at Downe Scout Centre. The camp has a Pirate theme – we’ll be making additions to pirate costumes over the weekend and taking part in lots of the on site activities.

On Sunday, members from all Sections attended the annual St Georges Day Parade at Rochester Cathedral.
This year was particularly special as we’re celebrating the 100 years of Scouting.

This Sunday we held our first Church Parade of the year at Chatham Salvation Army.
The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts along with the Brownies and Guides paraded in their flags and presented them to Major Kathy and then enjoyed the meeting which was run by Tracy, who is in charge of the Young People at the [...]

This Saturday, the Chatham Salvation Army held their annual Christmas Concerts at Chatham Central Theatre.
This years theme was the gifts of Christmas with each group that meets during the week taking part.

The Scout Group did the Ten Lords a Leaping section from the Song.

The Scouts and Guides arrived safely on Saturday after an 11 hour journey!
The Camp was setup quickly and everyone got settled in.
The Opening ceremnoy was held with all members of the camp taking part. This was followed by a welcome meeting in the Big tent with lots of singing and each country [...]

Following on from the great time we had last year, the group once again held a Barbeque to celebrate the end of the Scouting year.
All the Sections joined in with many parents and friends coming along as well. In addition to the great food, excellently prepared by the Explorer Scout Unit, the Group Scout Leader [...]

This Monday, the group will be holding it’s second annual Beach Barbeque on the beach at Lower Upnor. We will also be holding the AGM so you’ll be able to eat and find out what we’ve been doing for the last year.

The parents fundraising committee are holding a family Hot Pot and Quiz Evening on Saturday, 20th May 2006 at 7pm.
