On Sunday, members from all Sections attended the annual St Georges Day Parade at Rochester Cathedral.

This year was particularly special as we’re celebrating the 100 years of Scouting.

There are lots of photos from the parade – click on the picture below to see them.

On Monday another Beaver Scout was invested in our Colony.

George Cross

The Cubs were learning about the patron saint of England and Scouting, St George – and also about the patron Saints of the other countries in the United Kingdom. They also made some iced biscuits with the flags on of each country.

The Scouts held their annual Chip Shop Survey. This year, for the first time, McDonalds won!

The Explorer Scouts prepared an activity for the Scouts next week and orgainised a trip to Thorpe Park and to help with the setup of the World Jamboree this summer.

A busy first night back after the Easter Holiday.

The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers were all doing something with pancakes this week.

The Beavers were having pancake races in the corridor.

The Cubs were making them in pans as usualP2190004.JPG

The Beavers and Cubs and Explorers had their first nights of 2007 with their new Leaders on Monday night. The Beavers worked on some pictures of what they would look like in a years time and the things they want to do in Beavers this year. The Cubs looked at their Cub Promise and Law and started work on keeping a good turn diary for a week.

The Explorer’s played some games and talked about some of the activities they are going to do this term, including releasing a CD with Camp Fire songs on – so watch this space for more news on that!

The Scouts had their first night back as well (although with the same old leaders) and started work on the Scout Communicators badge.

Click on the photo below to see more of what the Cubs and Beavers were doing.

This Saturday, the Chatham Salvation Army held their annual Christmas Concerts at Chatham Central Theatre.

This years theme was the gifts of Christmas with each group that meets during the week taking part.

The Scout Group did the Ten Lords a Leaping section from the Song.

This involved a vaulting horse, lots of jumping and some excellent stage management by the explorer Scouts.

As you can see there were lots of people involved.

Thanks to all the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorer Scouts that took part.

Some of Scouts and Explorers went on a cycle hike on Sunday.

Like last year, they cycled to Iwade, although unlike last year they made very good time and finished quite early. It had been raining quite hard in the morning but was mainly dry on the ride itself (except for one scout who made sure to go through every puddle!).

Check out the photos by clicking on the picture below.

At the end of the Pack meeting, 3 Cubs where awarded their Chief Scouts Silver awards, the highest award they can achieve as a Cub Scout.

The Scouts and Explorers started the new term with some games and some planning and review for the next term.

Next week, the Scouts and Explorers will be out and the Beaver Scout Leader will be back from holiday – thanks to Akela for getting the new term started with the Beavers.

So we’ve heard about the band, we’ve seen some photos, we’ve even had a preview of the official report, now we’re just waiting to hear from the Scouts, Guides and Explorers that were on the camp. To give you a clue, they’re the ones in this photo.

So if you’re under 25 and are in this photo, please get your writing pen out and write your story about the camp. Let your section leader have it and we’ll post it here.
