General
This Monday, the group will be holding it’s second annual Beach Barbeque on the beach at Lower Upnor. We will also be holding the AGM so you’ll be able to eat and find out what we’ve been doing for the last year.
We’ll be starting at 6.45 and finishing around 8.30. If the weather is bad, we’ll have to move everything back to the hall so if in doubt, check with your section leader on the day.
For a map to Lower Upnor click here.
Or if you prefer, you can follow these instructions:
Directions to Lower Upnor Car Park
Coming from Chatham via Dock Road, go through the Medway Tunnel
At the first roundabout turn left.
At the second roundabout, go around and head back down the other side, back towards the tunnel. Take the first left and follow the road all the way top Lower Upnor.
The car park is at the very end of the town and is sign posted (note it is the public car park, not the ones belonging to the Pubs or the Yacht Clubs).
Chatham Salvation Army, our sponsor and the church we are part of have got a brand new website.
It contains news, features, the history of the corps and information about all the activities that happen in the church. It even includes a section on the Scout Group! Bonus points for the person who can find the earliest mention on the Scouts in the History Section.
St Georges Day Parade was a bit wet! It was raining for most of the afternoon but once the Salvation Army Band started playing, everyone marched to the Cathedral as usual.
This is the first year that Medway and Strood Scout Districts joined together for the parade and it was great to see so many people there.
Click on the photo below to see some more pictures from the parade.
The Scouts and Explorer Scouts are planning to attend this years Salvation Army International Scout and Guide camp hosted by the Netherlands Territory at Almere.
To assist with the costs of this we are raising money by recycling newspapers and magazines. We would be very grateful for your help.
Please bundle up your newspapers and magazines in carrier bags and bring them to any of the section meetings on Monday evenings and they will be collected from there.
Once again thanks for your assistance!
Our next Church parade will be held on Sunday 29th January 2006 at 9.45am
Please make every effort to attend

Merry Christmas
We hope that you and your family have a happy and peaceful Christmas.
In all the fuss and activity lets remember that "Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given…"
"And he shall be called, Wonderful, Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace and the government shall be on his shoulders and of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end "
Wise men came seeking Jesus – they still do!!!
We look forward to seeing you in the new year.

Following on from the Central Theatre this weekend, the Sections will not be meeting at their usual time or places this week.
- The Explorers are meeting at the Explorer Leaders House tonight.
- The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts are meeting on Tuesday Night at the St Marys Island Community Centre.
