The Harvest Festical church parade is on the 18th September at the Salvation Army Hall where we meet.
The service starts at 10.00am and all Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers are expected to attend. Parents, friends and family are also very welcome to join us.
If you are in one of the sections and will not be able to attend this event can you let your section leader know before hand.

The Group finished off it’s activities before the Summer Break with a beach barbeque.
The Beavers had their one at the hall and enjoyed some food and played games.
Later on the Cubs, Scouts and Explorers and their parents held a barbeque on the shores of the Medway at Upnor Beach. The weather stayed dry although there was quite a strong wind at times – this just helped the barbeques get going better.
One of the Scouts had arranged the evening as part of his leadership challenge for his Cheif Scouts Gold award. He planned the activity; wrote a letter to all the parents; did the shopping for the event and did the majority of the cooking on the beach. Every agreed that it was a great evening and everyone was very greatful for all his work.
While the food was being cooked, the young people went for a walk along the beach, the parents chatted amongst each other with the leaders and a good time was had.
It was a nice way to finish off for the summer break – the Cubs, Scouts and Explorers have already held their main camp of the year at Walesby Forest, back in June so there are no activities planned (yet) for the summer.

This years AGM took place on Monday 4th July.
The main hall was full of people for the evening and everyone had a good time.
There was a review of each Section; information about what we will be doing in the coming year and a discussion of what help the Group needs.

This Sunday the Group had it’s first Church Parade in a long time. Beavers, Cubs Scouts and Explorer Scouts were all at the Salvation Army Hall for the start of the service at 10.00am.
The Service was led by Captain Kathy and was about Pentecost.
The flags were presented to the Officer at the begining of the meeting and recieved back at the end.
The Cubs and Scouts were closed this week for Half Term but start back next week at the usual times. Remember that this years group camp is taking place in May and any Cub, Scout or Explorer Scout who wants to attned should let their leaders know as soon as possible.
This year, the group camp will be at Walesby Forest Scout Camp.
The Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and for their first official meeting, the Explorer Scouts started back Tonight.
